How to Choose the Perfect Foundation for Your Skin Type: Acne-prone/ Dry/ Mature/ and Uneven Skin
Most individuals have a hard time picking the perfect foundation. Whether it is the formula, color or texture, it is one of the hardest yet most important makeup choice. Here are a few choices I recommend for various skin types.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
For acne prone skin:
Recommend: Neutrogena Skin Clearing Oil Free Makeup
Purpose: It is oil free so it won't clog pores and worsen acne. It also helps to conceal redness. I love this one especially because it is affordable and contains salicylic acid, one of the most effective pimple-fighting ingredient. Get acne free skin with 10 ways to get acne free, clear skin- the secret to great skin.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For dry skin:
Recommend: NARS Sheer Glow Foundation
Purpose: It has natural hydrating qualities that is weightless on the skin. Brightening properties also improve the sallow appearance of dry skin. The finish of this foundation gives a glowing radiance that is not shiny and always healthy. To get the glowing youthful skin, 5 Ways To Look Radiant, Energized and More Awake With Makeup.

For skin with fine lines:
Recommend: Estée Lauder Resilience Lift Extreme Ultra Firming Makeup SPF 15
Purpose: Heavy makeup make lines look deeper, so this is a lightweight formula made of soy. Soy helps to tighten lines that dwell around the eye and mouth area.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For uneven skin:
Recommend: Chanel Mat Lumière Long-Lasting Soft Matte Makeup SPF 15
Purpose: Created with a matte base containing light reflecting molecules to camouflage those spots, uneven surfaces and sallowness. Definitely my lifesaver!

I have acne and i use neutrogena...its really great...def recommend it----
ReplyDeletei wish they sell it here though... what about MAC studio fix fluid? :)
ReplyDeleteDear Shen,
ReplyDeleteStudio fix is awesome too. I'm actually using it right now. It has super good coverage. The only concern I have is that in the middle of the day, your skin gets oily so I keep having to apply studio fix powder!
I've tried the Revlon CoverStay and it's pretty good, but I think it kinnna broke me out, I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's because I applied it on a dirty face. I don't really know. I'm waiting for these bumps on my face to go away and try it again and see what happens, I'm not sure if I should return it now or keep it.
Can you please help?
I'm a beginner and I'm thinking about trying Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Liquid Foundation from maybelline or Neutrogena Skin Clearing Oil Free Makeup !
Thanks !
I have oily skin to.
ReplyDeleteand my problem was .. I bought the Revlon ColorStay with SoftFlex .
I got home a tried it right away without cleaning my face, and I sweat a lot and am very oily. So I already had my MaxFactor Pan Stik foundation on. Do you think that was why I broke out. And I use a sponge applicator, I used the same one to apply the Revlon Foundation, do you thin that was why . I rarely clean the sponge, I only have a few. :( :O
Help ASAP !!
@ TPMPBl,
ReplyDeleteDefinitely go for a mineral foundation. I have very acne prone skin and revlon colorstay did kind of broke me out. If you don't mind paying a few more dollars, Pur minerals or Bare Minerals are great. For a cheaper alternative, Loreal's mineral foundations are nice too. Hope it works!
